Hey everyone,

This is a quick sketch I worked on today as I awaited for client feedback.  I went on the gnomon workshop forums and this was the contest of the month.  I liked the idea and I started working small with the lasso tool and the gradient tool.  These are two of my favorite tools to work with as it helps you focus on large shapes and not get bogged down by details.
I am very happy with how this came out.

Even more @Sketch_Dailes Sketches

Hey everyone,

These are some images I posted on the @Sketch_Dailies twitter group.  I wanted to create something with a more finished look.  The other images I had previously created were more sketchy in general.  I hope you like them and I will post more once I have them.

More @Sketch_Dailies Sketches

Hi everyone,

Here are a few more sketches made for the Sketch_dailies group on twitter.  I haven't been so consistent recently because I've been working on my graphic novel.  I had to finish a fight sequence between Attila Dahen and Baby Chick.  I will add more as I go.  I had fun working on the Muppet version of McCluck.  I think he would look great as a Muppet.  The Leprechaun one was cool as well.  Hope you like them.

@Sketch_Dailies sketches

Hey everyone,

A couple of weeks ago I started participating in the daily sketching challenge set by the group Sketch_Dailies on twitter.  Everyday they give a theme for the members to draw.  Here are some of the sketches I have created.  I have been busy with work (thank God) so I haven't participated everyday.  But it is good fun and I suggest to try it out.  There are some amazing artists that are participating as well so it is a great source for inspiration.  Hope you like the sketches.

Hey everyone,

This is Vic and Frankie.  It is my take on a Monster Kock.  I was inspired to create this piece when I saw the ads for the I,Frankenstein movie.  I am influenced by pop culture and I use it to create parody images using my Kock Fighter Club universe.  I wanted to add some humor to the whole concept so I made the Frankenstein monster look like a school boy.  I am working on these sketches as side projects to my side projects haha.  I already have the vampire sketch.  Will upload it soon.  I recorded the digital painting process.  I have also added images of my sketch process.  Hope you like it.

Ribery Kock

Hey everyone,

Here is an image I worked on this morning.  I wanted Ribery to win the Ballon D'Or but alas that was not to be.  This is the making of video.  If you want the final image to have as a screensaver on your smart phone, go to the link in the comments section of the video on vimeo.  Hope you like it.

FIGHT DOGS - Winston

Hey everyone,

I worked on this character yesterday and today.  I hadn't created a character for Fight Dogs in a while so I decided to dive into that world again for a bit.  I had the character of Barry the Baptist from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.  The guy looks like a Bulldog right off the bat so it was a no brainer. I worked on this in Photoshop from scratch.  I had fun working on this character.  He looks like a mean ol' bugger from London's East End.  Hope you like it.

Hey everyone,

This is a piece I worked on this afternoon as I listened to artist talking from the Thriving Artist Summit. It is a mock cover of an issue of the digital comic I made last year of the Kock Fighter Club.  This would focus mainly on the fight between Attila Dahen and Baby Chick.
I did this piece because I have been struggling personally with what it is that I am doing with the Kock Fighter Club.  I want to license the property so better people than me can take this concept and make a great comic book, cartoon, video game, toy line or whatever else the property applies to.
So I decided to work on this mock cover more for myself than anything else.  I wanted to remind myself of the love I feel for this concept.  I want to make the most of out it since it is not everyday that you come up with something you enjoy so much working on and that thankfully a lot of people respond to.
I hope I can make something happen this year.  It is a fresh start full of opportunities.  I hope I have the wits to see them and the guts to take advantage of them.
Hope you like it.

Hey everyone,

This is a quick parody piece I did of Hellboy called Hellkock.  I am not a fan of the comics.  I am more familiar with the movies made by Guillermo del Toro.  I like the production design and art style of that movie so I decided to make a parody piece of the character.  It was done digitally from scratch.  Hope you like it.

Highlands Castle

Hey everyone,

Hope you have a great 2014 and that you make your dreams happen.
Every so often I go on the forums at gnomon workshop and I check out the theme for the month's contest.  For December, the theme was highlands castle.  I love the Scottish landscapes so I thought it would be a good idea to do something out of the ordinary and work on a landscape.  I am by no means good at landscapes but I really enjoy working on them.  We had to include an element of fantasy or science fiction.  I went with a bit of Celtic magic.  I am uploading my preliminary sketches and the final piece.  I hope you like it.

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a parody piece I did of the Justice League.  I had never intended to do a parody of the JL but after I saw The Flashpoint Paradox (which is amazing!), I decided to give it a try.  I created everything from scratch in Photoshop.  I wanted to save time and I felt like figuring everything out in the program.  I am attaching some of the process images.  I am very happy with how it came out. I hope you like it.

XPO COMICON Guatemala 2013

Hey everyone,

This past weekend I participated in the first ever Expo Comicon here in Guatemala.
I had a great time seeing all the great people that came to the show as well as the cosplayers that took a lot of time to work on their costumes.  I was there selling prints of my artwork as well as express digital portraits that I printed out so people could take home with them.  My friends Mario Santos and his girlfriend Nora helped me out on saturday and sunday.  I couldn't have done it without them.
I was pleased to see that of all of my prints, the Quetzal drawing was the most popular.  I should have printed many more of those.  People also responded very well to the owls I made.  That was very cool too.  I look forward to doing more of these events.
Here are some pics of the event.

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a few t-shirts designs that I've made for my client Headline Shirts. I have done many more and the process has been great. I usually work out a sketch in Photoshop.  Once it is approved, I move to the final line art and colors.  Once those are approved, I take the file to illustrator and I use live trace to vectorize each element.  They are all in separate layers.  I use live trace with "ignore white" box checked.  You just have to make sure to replace any white elements with a color like cyan, and later replace cyan once the layer has been traced. This helps make vectorizing much easier.  Check out the many other designs they offer at the link below. Hope you like them.

Legend tells of a group of merciless warriors that keep the Kock Fighters in check. These birds of prey are deadly efficient and go as far as they need to to get the job done.

I introduced one of these characters in the end of Volume 3.  Her name is Beatrix and she is a Peregrine Falcon.  I designed her in my sketchbook and then did the final pencil version.  This was later colored in Photoshop.  The character design part is what started this whole thing.  I love to do it.  I get on a roll and start designing a bunch of characters because I get a spark of ideas that I like to take advantage of.  I then proceeded to design 4 more characters.  I wanted to do 5 talons because it seemed like a nice round number.
I couldn't stop there so I designed 2 more.

I had loads of fun working on these characters.  I look forward to developing them in the coming volumes.  Hope you like it.

Ahab, the waterlogged zombie

Hey everyone,

This is my take on the topic for this week's Character of the Week challenge at  I love to visit CHOW from time to time to get inspiration and to draw things that I normally would not draw.  I did sketch from thumbnail to final today.  I had loads of fun working on this character which is the main goal.  Hope you like it.

KOCK of THUNDER - The Dark World

Hey everyone,

Here is another Kock parody piece I created for the upcoming movie Thor: The Dark World.  I started this on friday afternoon and I finished it today before lunch.  I created a pencil sketch first which I then took a picture of with my cell phone cause I don't have a scanner anyone.  I then colored it in Photoshop.
I am a fan of the first movie and I look forward to the second installment.  I think it will be much better than the first.  Hope you like this piece.

Ronaldinho Kock

Hey everyone,

I created this caricature of Ronaldinho Gaucho as a Kock last week because I was contacted by a fan.  He sent me an email where he recommended doing this caricature after he saw my take of Messi as a Kock.  He said that Atletico Mineiro, which is the club where Ronaldinho plays, has a rooster as a mascot.  I loved the idea so I created the piece.  I recorded the painting process.  I also created screensavers for smart phones.  You can get them for free or pay what you want.  Find them at this link:  Hope you like them.
